Powered Parachute Flying Club - Peotone, IL
July 20, 2002

My coverage of this event comes with an apology to those that attended and have come to this page to view the many photos I took. Sometime after the event started my camera began to fail, perhaps because of the heat and humidity.  Nonetheless, most all the photos of the machines in the air were lost. There were over 50 machines in attendance and at times there were 20 or more in the air. What a spectacular site. I hope you enjoy the ones I managed to salvage below.

The event was a big success and the turn out keeps growing every year. The camaraderie observed and spirit of safety was overwhelming. Great job folks! (Club members & pilots)

The Powered Parachute Flying Club of Peotone, IL is 34 members strong and as usual they make sure that there's fun for all.

Under the tent were refreshments for all and a good place to cool off. The temperature was 92o F. with a heat index of 98o F. when I arrived early afternoon.

Machines unloaded and ready for the fun to begin.

The spectators are starting to arrive.

And there off!

Let the fun begin!

If you enlarge this one you can see the some of the activity on the runway.

This was 6:30 pm notice the haze around the sun from the humidity.

The instructors were very busy. There was over 50 instructional flights given, and over 50 smiling faces of those being introduced to the magic of powered parachute flight.

On display and ready for flight sits the new Powrachute Pegasus. In the background Bill Hunt is explaining the principals of powered parachute flight to a spectator.
